Best Bar and Grill: Capello's Capello's Up the Hill Bar and Grill is the best new Bar and Grill in Cayo. The offer an 8 hour happy hour! From 11:00am until 7:00pm you get 2 for 1 drinks. You can hang outside, and eat, lounge at the bar, or enjoy the great view. On weekends, you can go inside, and see live music, or enjoy their DJ and great laser light system. If you want top shelf, they have it all. They are next to Cayo Twist.
Best Dance Club: Mi Cocina Mi Cocina is a great bar to hang out at and watch what's going on below. It's located on the second floor above where Saddleback used to be, and the view from up there is nice! Abner is the new bartender there, and he's been known for having the best customer service in Belize. They have a DJ, nice furniture, an amazing selection of alcohol, and even a pool table. They are next to the Galvez Stadium, near Cayo Twist.
Best Graveyard Bar/Lounge: Meluchi's At Meluchi's there is an event going on almost every night of the week. They've had burger eating contests, drinking contests, movie nights, teacher happy hours, half price drink nights, and they aren't letting up. They have a restaurant with great food and appetizers, and the Grave Yard Lounge rocks! They now have their own kareoke machine, and can download any music you want to sing. Biggy is a natural at running a business, and it shows. They are located across the street from Sacred Heart, overlooking the grave yard.
Best Bar: Club Rehab at Piache's At Rehab every Thursday is Thirsty Thursday now, and they basically offer happy hour all day!!! Great club to start off at or end up at since they are usually open from 4pm until after 2am. They usually play great music, and you can request songs most of the time too. Great happy hour from 4 to 7 when they offer half priced drinks. They are located across the street from the casino.
Best Ex-pat bar: Remo's Roadhouse Many of the ex-pats start at Remo's because of the great conversation and stories provided by the owner - he can tell you stories that even locals don't know. The Roadhouse Grill is top notch too: try the hot dogs or buffalo wings there while watching a game! Located in Bullet Tree Falls, just 3 miles from downtown - the first building on the right as you enter Bullet Tree Falls.
Best Happy Hour: Mr. Greedy's While they have the best pizza, and a great burger, they also have a happy hour that offers half price local rum drinks. If it wasn't for Mr. Greedy's there wouldn't be a good happy hour in town. Great bar to hangout at downtown, and watch everyone go by. They have some amazing appetizers too - try the onion rings.
Best Pub: Orleanito's Orleanito's can be found downtown, near where the buses drop off, in Centennial Park. They have good drinks, and some decent food.
Best Local Hangout: Mariana's Mariana's just changed its name to La Oficina for the new year! It's a good place to hang out, listen to some music, and talk with the locals. They have indoor seating, but most people hang out in the enclosed bar and patio area on the street. Located at Bullet Tree Road and Joseph Andrews Drive, across the street from Chuc's market.
Best Benque Club: Benque Rock Benque Rock just re-opened on the 19th of February! They are changing their name to Benque Vibes.
Best Jungle Cantina: Misty Mountain Not only does Misty Mountain make their own liqueurs there, but they have the best jungle atmosphere in the country, being located just outside of Mountain Pine Ridge Reserve. Try their Caye-Lua, Coco-Lua, or Coconut Rum, and you'll want to buy a case. They also have a nice munchie menu. Great place to hit after seeing MPR, before hitting the long road home.
Best Local Loud Club: Blue Angels While it's quite loud, and many choose not to go there due to the overabundance of Reggaton and Hip Hop music played, it does remain popular for the younger crowd. It's located on Hudson street, right in the middle of downtown Cayo. Just listen for the music. You can get great street food right in front of Blue Angels. Their happy hour is from 5 until 9, and they have specials on local rum drinks.
Best Casino: Princess Casino The Princess Casino is located next to the San Ignacio Resort Hotel. Kareoke Thursdays are quite popular there. The Perla Bar and Grill has some good food too. They have all the one armed bandits and tables you could want, and have cash raffles many times a month. They are open until the wee hours of the morning.
